--Presents that come with your Presence—
The older I get the more I realize I don’t need material things as gifts for the holidays! A handmade card or a t-shirt is just fine—or maybe a few bucks in a Starbuck’s gift card.
But I find myself coveting something of much higher value to me. I’m referring to intangible gifts that can not be purchased because only God can give. I’m talking about gifts such as PEACE and WISDOM. My problem isn’t in the love department as much as it’s in the peace zone.
Even when we know that God loves us and even when He has already afforded us a good dose of heavenly wisdom, unless we have His peace which surpasses our human frailties, we can’t tap into the banks of this wisdom because we’re too up-tight and stressed out. We just can’t think straight.
So it is that first, we need to embrace the gift of God’s peace. King Solomon, known for his tremendous wisdom said: “A heart at peace gives life to the body,” Proverbs 14:30. I take this to mean that God is the sole Source of this peace because He created and formed the human heart. I also take it to mean that if this peace is embedded in our heart, absolutely nothing can take it away from us! This is who we are—peaceful people…peace makers.
So, this holiday season, let’s give of who we are not just what we purchase. Let’s reflect peace everywhere we go.
I leave you with the Prophet Daniel’s words: "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed," he said. "Peace! Be strong now; be strong," Daniel 10:18-19.
Happy Hanukkah & Merry Christmas!
Dell
PS, I was beginning to stress-out because I hardly ever promote the books God’s given me to publish. But, hey, if I’m going to exercise peace, I’m going to just put the word out and let God do the rest. Don’t forget my recent publication, “OUT FROM HIDING.” Just go to www.4sephardim.com and click on the Publications page and pay with your credit card via our Paypal system that’s worked just fine for us.

LIGHTS – CAMERAS – ACTION!
Hanukah Lights Up the Sanchez’
What more could I ask for–my new book published and now two brand new TV programs en español, in Spanish. But that’s not all! A film maker is doing a special documentary film on the work Helen and I do among our people, the Sephardic Anusim. Let’s chat about it for a moment or two.
First, let’s start with my new book, “Out from Hiding—Evidences of Sephardic Roots among Latinos.” This is the compilation of 15 years of investigation, travels and previous publications. It’s hitting the marketplace like a lightning storm. In it I expose new breakthroughs in the social as well as the hard sciences such as DNA.
Immediately after the book came out, I got invited to do a 30 minute Spanish teaching on this same subject on TV. I’ve been doing this for about seven years in English but now they want everything I have said in Spanish too.
And that’s not all; they’ve asked me to do a two hour talk show in Spanish on television on this very subject. So I’ll be bringing in guests from all over the country and abroad to tell their own stories on how they discovered their Jewish roots and how it’s impacted their lives. We’ll include a little cultura (culture) such as music, arts and la cocína (Sephardic kitchen practices).
As they say in TV commercials, “And that’s not all….” – a Texas film maker has begun a documentary that includes the work we’ve done for over all these years. In fact, they’re even flying us to Israel in January to do the documentary in our beloved Negev! The film will be aired on TV channels devoted to this type of film. I’ll keep you posted on the times and dates of airing.
So as you can see, this year, precious Hanukah (or Chanukah) has really lit our lives up big-time, like never before! And guess what. I want to give God all the thanks and glory because HE alone deserves it. I’m just an instrument for His purposes, and enjoy every breath of it. I want to thank those of you that never cease to pray for us and to stand in the gap for us in moral and practical ways.
But now, I think I must say this–I’m going to need your help in order to accomplish all of this in a noble way. What an awesome time as Hanukah to help me do all of this with your love gifts and donations. And what a great time to help me out by purchasing one, two or more of my brand new books. In order to do this, you can visit my website at www.4sephardim.com and check out the PUBLICATIONS page and place your order. Our Paypal system has worked very well for those of you wishing to make a special donation to this noble cause.
I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with my new book nor with my new TV programs or the documentary film. So please help me out now while the challenge is glaring with lights from heaven!
Happy Hanukah!

“Out from Hiding – Evidences of Sephardic Roots among Latinos”
My new book, Out from Hiding, is finally off the press! This book actually began in the spring of ’96 when my father told me the secret of his family’s Sephardic (Jewish) roots. I already knew about my wife’s maternal Sephardic lineage but we had nothing on her Dad nor my Dad and Mom up until recently—now we do.
I never imagined that I’d find such a gold mine of evidences as I did. It’s kind of wild because of the deep veins that had been covered up which are filled facts and information that seems to have no end. Each succeeding shred of evidence gave me the insatiable appetite to take another bite, and another and another.
It all started with a story…an oral history. It progressed into the scouring of volumes of documented histories leading me back through the Southwest, then into Mexico, Spain and on to Israel. This ushered me in to the field of onomastics which is the art and science of the origin of our Sephardic surnames.
Then I bumped into the field of material evidence plum in the middle of little and often hidden gravesites where I found different Sephardic inscriptions and symbols on gravestones. Interesting little objects began to pop out of nowhere which served to prove my point.
Suddenly and out of nowhere, DNA slapped me in the face. We began to get little glimpses of Sephardic DNA among many Hispanic men. The wheels of DNA testing began to press forward as the big picture of our people began to unfold before our very eyes. Meanwhile, DNA scientists began to put the DNA puzzle together as they uncovered patterns and trends of DNA test results among Sephardic men in other countries which were exactly the same as many Hispanic Latinos in our own country. The evidences I’ve found are mind boggling.
What started as a book focusing strictly on the oral histories of 13 Sephardic Anusim men and women developed into a broad and comprehensive statement. It was so interesting to see how the collective profile of these 13 oral histories corroborated specific components within the various chapters of my book. I was glad that despite the gulfs between generations and tens of thousands of square miles between our Sephardic ancestors there can yet be found common bonds that link us all together like a beautiful mosaic.
So there you have it, a bird’s eye view of the evidences which I cover in my book, Out from Hiding. .
Now I’d like to talk to you about the special offer referred to above. If I were a top notch best seller such as John Grisham or Max Lucado it would cost me absolutely nothing to publish and distribute my book; but, the reality is that I’m not. So the costs I’ve incurred are pretty hefty but I won’t complain.
This being the case, I would like to propose to you that for a gift of $100 I will send you a paperback copy of my book which I’ll gladly autograph and write a special dedication to you or to whomever you wish. I’m sure it’ll be an excellent gift during the holidays ahead. I’ll cover the shipping and handling costs.
The book does retail for $16.95 but I feel this would be a mutual blessing to both of us: to me because of all the costs; and for you because you’ll be contributing into the first fruits of this book and getting it dedicated to you. (The hardcover copy of my book retails for $26.95.)
If you’re interested, send me an email ASAP telling me the number of books you’d like along with your name, mailing address and a phone number. I’ll quickly send you the exact information you need for the dedication of the book(s) and where to mail your check or money order. My email address is: negevdell@hotmail.com.
On the other hand, if you’re not in a position to enjoy this special offer and would simply like to order one or more books at retail price send me the same information as stated above and I’ll reply ASAP.
Thanks for bearing with me and blessing me along my trail!

Everything’s Changed!
Our nation is in such a great mess that any act to repair or restore it will take a lot of guts. Besides this, it’s going to be uniquely painful.
I’m intrigued with something the Holy Scriptures say in 2 Chronicles 7:14-15:
“14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” (NIV)
As I said, it’s going to take a lot of guts to humble ourselves, to pray, to seek God’s face and to turn from our wicked ways. I’m convinced it’s also going to be quite painful for all of us because we’ve become quite self-sufficient in believing we do not need God in our lives and in our nation anymore.
We’ve relied on government, politics, media and other social institutions to bail us out. But now we’re beginning to see that the mess we’ve created needs an act of supernatural power that’s way beyond our human capabilities.
Despite the mess we’re in, thank God that the Scripture says, “I WILL HEAR AND WILL FORGIVE…AND HEAL…” It’s time to re-learn how to seek God and to ask Him to bail us out; but, I’m sure we both know that He’s going to make some demands on us too. His demand is to change once we’ve turned from our own humanistic ways.
I hate to say it but unless we do this, we’re inviting Armageddon in our own country.
Personally, I don’t want to see us enter another Civil War. I don’t want to see lawlessness run rampant in the streets because of our own doing.
So, the solution is quite complex and yet very easy. It’s something we can do if we try. Read 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 and follow its prescription.

Goodbye Tabernacles?
We’re fast approaching the closing of “Sukkoth,” the Feast of Tabernacles which comes to us at the end of each year in the Jewish calendar. And I hope we’ve had a Feast in Tabernacles not just a Feast of Tabernacles. If not, it’s never too late to begin.
The central theme of this Feast isn’t so much the hut or booth as much as the family and members of God’s congregation coming together. What good is a hut (or booth) if our visit and discussion is all wrong and irrelevant?
To me, Sukkoth is about families coming together to enjoy God’s presence, His provision and protection. Please notice I said, “Families” because it’s a time when children bring their children and their children’s children to assemble in an outside booth to celebrate God’s faithful goodness throughout the entire year.
I am one hundred percent convinced that the only method we’re going to survive the onslaughts that lie ahead and are already among is by celebrating perpetual Sukkoths by families joining together to pray, to learn and to share each others goods. Today we call this community—the assembling of saints (Jew or Gentile Christians).
During my adolescence, we had no space in the church building for our growing Sunday School class so we often met under a Mesquite tree outside, or in the shade provided by the side of the church building. Some of my best prayer and bible studies with men have been under a huge oak tree with low reaching branches. These trees remind me of our family trees—families connected like branches to the trunk and the trunk to its roots.
During my elementary years we’d spread open some harsh and thorny bushes in order to make our own little succa or hut in the middle of it. This little thorny hut served as protection from our imaginary enemies. We even had secret entrances into it.
The only way we’re going to survive the grave challenges coming at us today—such as the biggest tax hikes in America’s history coming up in 1/11—will be by our tabernacle lifestyle. This is how God’s family will overcome through its hardy sense of devotion to God, to family and to community. There’s no other way to endure what’s ahead without God in the middle of our community life where we all pull together.
Don’t you think it’s time to get real about the fact that God is preparing us on how to return to a lifestyle of modesty, simplicity and integrity of heart?
In closing, let me say that when David sang the 27th Psalm, the 4th verse gives us the heart of a Tabernacle lifestyle. But in verse 5, he reminds us that God will keep us safe in the “shelter of his Tabernacle.” Then in verse 6, David declares that he’s not going to moan and groan while he presents his sacrifices but shout with joy and with music to the Lord.
May we learn to live in the daily Sukkoths of our life in God!

PS, My new book, “Out from Hiding” will be coming off the press shortly. It highlights the fundamental evidences that corroborate the assumption that many Latinos have Sephardic Jewish roots. Some of these evidences include DNA, Onomastics (the origen of Sephardic surnames), material evidences such as artifacts and epigraphy, the historical record, oral histories and personal prognostications...

ANOTHER 911!
NOTE: Today is 9-11 (Sept. 11th, 2010). A few days I posted this message in my monthly newsletter. If you’re interested in subscribing to it, send me an email to negevdell@hotmail.com.
Two days before the infamous 9-11, I spoke on the title: How to dial God’s 911. (It was based on Psalm 91.1) This came after an incredible vision God gave me while in the Rockies during the preceding summer. It was an amazing experience which I’ll never forget.
Here we are at the eve of another 9-11 (September 11th). No, I’m not saying this day is marked for another terror attack here in our nation–not that I know of.
This year, 9-11 falls just one day after the Feast of Trumpets also known as Rosh Hashanah, which is also the Jewish New Year. In fact, it’ll fall exactly one week before the holiest day in the Jewish calendar known as Yom Kippur–the Day of Atonement. Just a few days later, we’ll be celebrating Succoth also known as the Feast of Tabernacles which begins the eve of September 23rd.
Although I’ve stated that I do not know, by fact or revelation, of any terror attacks planned against our nation on that day, I do know such attacks are being planned against Israel at this very time.
In fact, Debkafile reports that the U.S. has warned Syrian president Bashar Assad regarding plans to attack Israel. Debka says that “The Obama administration has sent… Bashar Assad a stern warning that he will be held personally accountable and face consequences if Israel and the Palestinian Authority are subjected to a terror campaign—whether by Hizballah or the Palestinian extremist groups based in Damascus.”
In the past, I have heard Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deliver some pretty hefty speeches but none like the one he delivered before the U.N. Assembly in New York a few weeks ago on June 13th. When I heard and read his statement all I could say was, “Wow and AMEN.” Here’s what he had to say:
"I promise to all Muslims around the world - if your plan will be carried out, to destroy the State of Israel, God forbid, I assure you that we have submarines with nuclear warheads missiles and we have nuclear warheads missiles outside the borders of Israel, these missiles will destroy major European capitals, along with Mecca and Medina and all the Arab oil fields."
In my newsletter last month, I delivered a “Word of Caution” regarding the time period between October and the ending of January 2011 (i.e., 10/10 – 1/11). I asked you to be very prayerful about incidents that could take place during this time and to keep a particular eye open for 10/10/10. At this time I have nothing more to add to this word of caution other than to say, it looks more serious than we think. You see, what shakes Israel also shakes America; and what shakes America shakes Israel. Let’s be more prayerful than ever as we stand watch and in the gap for Zion and also our homeland.
On a totally separate note, I want to advice my faithful readers to keep me in our warmest prayers as I’m putting final closure to my new book that’ll come out in a month or two. The title is, “OUT FROM HIDING.” It’s a book that’ll provide evidences which point to the reality of Sephardic Jewish roots among many of my Latino brethren. These evidences point to the historical record, material evidences (such as artifacts), onomastics which deals with the origins of Spanish/Sephardic surnames and DNA which presents us an irrefutable source of scientific knowledge on this subject. I earnestly believe it’ll be the best book I’ve yet to publish. I’ll be taking orders later on.
Shalom…

WHEN IT’S OK TO FORGET
Everybody has heard of the Scripture that tells us to 'forget things of the past because God is doing something new.' (Isaiah 43:19) However, just days ago I heard the whisper of God telling me: "I'm making a new beginning out of a new beginning."
In other words, God is taking the very seed from within a new fruit He has created in order to do something even more special for a specific purpose.
After almost 15 years of traveling across America and especially the Southwest, I'm finding a brand new breed (seed) of Sephardic Jews with Latino roots that longing for a more intimate relationship with God than ever.
This breed of Sephardic Anusim has one thing in common--unquenchable passion for what is true. At last, I'm finding Sephardic Latinos that aren't compromising their values and principles in order to please or appease people. They're retrieving most of their ancestors' virtues that were passed down to them in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and the Southwest.
Another thing that separates them from all the rest is that they aren't gliding through the clouds of presumption, addicted to lifeless theologies or liturgies. They're not mere spectators but the very spectacles in God's ancient pathway. (Jeremiah 6:16) These folks are in touch with reality--from Capitol Hill and the Oval Office all the way down (or should I say up) to the grassroots where people are at right now. These folks are distinguished by a deep and genuine sense of "comunidad" (community). They are fully aware that without an integral commitment to comunidad they're sunk in today's malaise of troubles.
In other words, these people--Sephardic Latinos are in touch with the depth of true spirituality as well as the rudeness of reality. They've not given in to the deceptive illusions of today's chaotic mess in our government, politicians and those in positions of inbred power.
The folks I'm speaking about are 3rd, 4th, 5th generation American Latinos that have hid their true Sephardic identity for over 500 years and are coming out of hiding and taking possession of their God-given purpose and inheritance.
In recent past, I’ve begun to see something very spectacular to me. I'm now seeing that these people are sparking new hope and casting renewed light among the American Indian tribes and nations. New hope is arising within Indian Reservations as they too discover their roots and their destiny in life. I know we've got a long way to go but don't forget God's doing a new thing from within a new thing. I think we're alas finding the gold within our soul that was taken from us many generations ago.
I am totally convinced that in these perilous days, God is raising up a segment of His holy remnant that we've never realized even existed. God is also cleansing the chalkboard of our brain regarding our many misconceptions and misperception of the Sephardic Latinos as well as the Native Americans that live all around and among our people. God is crushing old fables, false myths and foul stereotypes in order that we begin to see the truth concerning our people and where we fit in these end-times which lead to Messiah's coming.

Turkish Flotilla Vs. Israel
On Memorial Day, Israeli commandos swarmed the Turkish flotilla of six ships which allegedly contained humanitarian supplies aimed for Gaza. Israeli intelligence dropped the ball when it came to the fact that those “humanitarian workers” might be violent. Armed with knives, pipes and various forms of propelled objects that cause injury, they severely beat up and injured ten Israeli commandos. What’s most amazing is that these commandos were only armed with “paint-ball rifles” such as those used to disperse rioters and a hand gun. After some serious physical attacks on these commandos, they were finally given permission to use their handguns. They fired rounds at the legs of their attackers and drove them away.
As if this wasn’t bad enough, there are now two more ships being launched from Turkey this week to the same blockage where Israel has repeatedly ordered them not to enter. Israel has clearly stated they can aim their humanitarian ships to the Port of Ashdod, which is right next to Gaza. It is believed these ships could be led by war ships as well as fighter jets from Turkey–so much for the chilly relationship between Israel and Turkey which is now icy cold.
In the midst of these new Israeli crises, we continue to read headlines such as:
“Israel braces for Turkish, Hizballah, Hamas reprisals…”
“Syria has 1,000 ballistic missiles zeroed on Israeli targets…”
“Iran test-fires same missiles as handed to Hizballah…”
“(PA Minister) Abbas: We deal with U.S., Not Israel…”
What’s my opinion you ask? Thanks for asking.
I have been in a kibbutz immediately next to the Gaza border which abuts Egypt many times. The sounds I’ve heard by day and especially at night are quite telling. There hardly was a night when I wouldn’t hear constant automatic gunfire, explosions, fighter jets and helicopters flying overhead.
Every single night, after the loud chanting of Moslem clerics over loud speakers, I knew what would happen right after that. No, the worshippers didn’t come out passive and peacefully but fuming with violence, hatred and mocking Israeli soldiers patrolling our narrow border between that Palestinian village and our kibbutz. I think the worst night I had was when from midnight until the dawn, radical, terror-bent Palestinian Moslems made all kinds of noises in form of waves. The noise makers were lined up against the border fence in the south-end of the village, as far as I could hear, and continue in northerly waves all night long. They made different noises such as roosters crowing and donkeys hee-hawing. They ended their noises with the squawking of large black crows at the dawning of the new day. At this point they synchronized their squawking with the actual noises these crows would make every morning. It gave me the creeps because of their proximity. I thought they’d invaded our kibbutz for sure.
So what am I trying to say? I am asking you, why do you think this flotilla was at this blockage at armed with food, medicine and cement? Why at this particular time? Simple!
Everyone has heard reports that Israel will be attacked this summer by the Hizballah terrorists, by Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and possibly Iran. We also know that Gaza Palestinians do not need food nor medical supplies because Israel provides all this to them. But in their anticipation of war against Israel, they know Israel will cut supplies instantly. They know they’ll need surplus food, water and medical supplies for their casualties.
But what about all that cement? It’s been confirmed over and over again that these Palestinians continue to dig tunnels; so they need concrete for their smuggling underground canals. And…they also need it to build stronger concrete bunkers against Israeli raids, rockets and missiles.
So what can we do? There are thousands and perhaps millions of Pro-Israel Zionists all across our hemisphere. There are also Sephardic Crypto Jews into the millions in the Americas. We need to mobilize ourselves in prayer first. We need to pray the prophecies God has in His Word against these enemies of “the apple of God’s eye,” Israel. After all, the voice of one calling in the Desert to prepare the way for the Lord can now be heard louder and is more urgent than ever!
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,

Immigration Reform
--Where do you stand?—
There’s a lot of confusion regarding illegal immigration today. Many have formed opinions or taken a position based on media reports and political debates. Let’s ascend above this for a minute and consider some other perspective.
A lot of Americans have never even seen a Mexican alien. Most everyone has seen Latino tourists spending mucho dinero but not hard working, family loving aliens. Others have established a stereotype based on a very narrow perspective.
Personally, I have seen both extremes. I know people who are actively involved in helping aliens. I also know deer hunters that have told me they use aliens for target practice when they’re crossing down their hunting lease. Some hunters set traps for them while others leave their cabin doors unlocked with food on their shelves for them to come in and eat while they’re out.
The Bible has a lot to say about aliens. The Hebrew meaning of the word alien points to a sojourner that lives in constant fear because of his status. Exodus 22:21 says, “Do not mistreat an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in Egypt.” Zechariah 7:10 reads, “Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor…”
Personally, I’m a third generation and my wife is a fourth generation American. Our grandchildren are fifth and sixth generation our great granddaughter is seventh generation American. (Our forefathers were on this side of the border before the Southwest was part of the USA.) Despite this, I know the feeling of living in fear and intimidation during my growing up years as I visited parts of my native city where I wasn’t welcomed.
How can we secure our borders and deal with illegal immigration in a prudent and humane way? Simple–God has blessed America with incredible genius. When we pool knowledgeable people with a caring heart together, there is a spark of the miraculous that emanates from these interactions. Sure, things get heated at times because iron sharpens iron and sparks fly all over the place. But we ascend to even higher planes through these interactions.
We need to challenge our local and state leaders to put pressure on our national leaders so that they might begin to identify leaders in different fields of our society to address this issue. We do not want a bunch of politicians to control this operative. We need professors, lawyers, physicians, plumbers, carpenters, scientists, school teachers, housewives, ranchers, farmers. We also need theologians and philosophers from among our Jewish and Christian communities. Not to forget–we urgently need grassroots folks of different ethnicities to sit alongside these elite thinkers of our day; and to come up with recommendations that can serve the needs of our citizenry as well as the aliens that have always and shall always live among us.
Above all, we need to put God and godly people in the middle of this. We’ll need an army of people praying all across our nation. Failure to do this in a humane manner could spell chaos and a possible insurrection that’ll only maximize our problems all across our 2000 mile U.S.-Mexican border.
We can’t afford to alienate over 500 million neighbors to the south of us because of arrogance or fear. America is going to need all the friends it can get within our hemisphere as more and more nations are antagonistic towards us and some are developing methods of mass destruction such as nuclear and chemical and biological technologies–all aimed at us!
Me? I’m for laws and procedures that are just as well as merciful. Let’s not forget that most of us are the descendants of aliens from the four corners of the earth. Some of us have been here a bit longer while others have seemingly been here forever.
Finally, let’s remember what the Christian New Testament says about father Abraham within this same context. -- By faith he made his home in the Promised Land like a stranger (alien) in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. Hebrew 11:9-10.
It’s time to serve as lights beaming in the darkness of today’s national crises. We’re either part of the problem or part of the solution.
Shalom,

Nightmares of the Holocaust–Memories of the Inquisition
–What’s the difference–
Everybody knows what “holocaust” is but no one knows what an “Inquisition” is.
Of course, I’m generalizing a bit. In a nutshell, an Inquisition is a type of holocaust such as the one Spain perpetrated on Jews a few hundred years ago. An Inquisition is also a holocaust that Mexico followed up on after that Jews fled from Spain and Portugal to Mexico.
On April 19th all Jews and Zionists will celebrate Memorial Day, remembering the horrific tragedy of Hitler’s Holocaust. Then the 20th, we will celebrate Israel’s Independence Day.
With profound respect and heaviness of heart I want to say that while I was a young boy, I remember the horrific travesties of the Holocaust that took place during World War II. Some of my extended family members fought in this gruesome war. But what lies even more heavily in my soul is the fact that we’ve either forgotten–or we never knew about an earlier Holocaust that affected tens of thousands of our Spanish forefathers that fled the literal flames of the Inquisition in Spain and then Portugal and then Mexico and other nations in Latin America.
My point is this: there is no difference between a people that suffered at the hand of their perpetrators one year ago as opposed to one decade ago. Pain and suffering was present in both cases. The presence of such trauma did not go away–it remains there as a memorial.
A people that suffered in Hitler’s Holocaust 50 years ago is no less and no more than the people that suffered in the Spanish Inquisition 500 years ago. Hitler’s fiery ovens were no more and no less than the burnings at the stake of the Inquisitions. The confiscation of goods and property were the same in both cases. The raping of women and girls and even young boys were the same. The kidnappings of their children were no different–a kidnapped child is the same whether it was 50 years ago or 500 years ago. The collective unconscious in both cases is quite similar if not the same. The outcry of the human soul is the same. The demand for justice is exactly the same.
Hitler used Ghettos and Spain used Barrios to hold the Jews under siege. Hitler enforced their wearing a Star of David to distinguish them from all others. Spain used the San Benito which was the vesture filled with insane emblems to demonstrate who was a Spanish (Sephardic) Jew.
It is nothing short of a miracle we have children of the Holocaust survivors today. It is just as much a miracle, and more so, that we have survivors of the Inquisitions that besieged Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Peru, Columbia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Cuba and most Latin American nations including the State of New Mexico in the United States of America.
I wish to God that someone would build a museum of all the atrocities caused upon the Jews of Spain–the Sephardim, the Anusim. There is a major museum of the Holocaust in Jerusalem. In fact, there are more than 20 small and large museums in foreign countries and at least two others in Israel. In our nation there are approximately 25 such museums, the largest one being in Washington, DC. But they have little if any information about the Spanish Inquisition with its tentacles in Iberia and throughout Latin America, and as stated previously also in New Mexico.
I happen to have two dear colleagues that deals with the Holocaust survivors in Israel. I personally know a couple of Jewish individuals who are children of Holocaust survivors. I’m glad to report that despite their parent’s traumas, they have managed to grow up and make something very special of themselves. But as a mental health professional, I do not need a Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass to detect the effects of their parent’s trauma.
On the other hand, I happen to know hundreds and thousands of descendants of the survivors of one or more Inquisitions but their stories are not known. In many cases, they are seen with suspicion and cynicism when they tell a small portion of their forefathers’ plight. I am however glad to report that the extended Jewish family is slowly coming around to believe their reports as they become knowledgeable of what actually took place in their histories. But something of a miraculous dimension needs to take place in the halls of the Israeli government in order that these Sephardic Anusim souls are reckoned with in a just and merciful manner.
I am not advocating that any system become gullible to believe anything without proper evidence or due process. But I am declaring that it is high-time that new case law begins to be written along with new policies and procedures that can best deal with such cases. After all, God has given us an amazing tool that is called the brain in order to accurately process intelligence in a wise and prudent manner. But this is going to demand a major amount of change. This means that those that are in positions of power will need to get out of their presumptive boxes in order to hear, see and perceive what is taking place all across the Americas including Iberia and other foreign nations where there are yet Sephardic Jews in virtual hiding.
It is time for the secular as well as the religious Jews to come together in order to create new pathways that begin to open up, perhaps, small gateways for bona fide cases of Sephardic Anusim. It is time that Israeli politics and religious extremism be put on the shelf until this issue of the awakening of the sleeping giant of Sephardic-Anusim is compatibly dealt with.
In closing, I am convinced we need each other. Sephardic Anusim needs to reconnect with the people as well as the land of their Jewish forefathers. But on the other hand, I’m convinced that Israel needs to stretch out her arms to embrace their “orphaned” brothers and sisters as they cry out for a little help. Frankly, I shall go out on the limb to declare something very dear to my own heart.
Israel needs the Sephardic Anusim more than the Anusim needs Israel. Most all of the Sephardic Anusim in America that I know, that are longing to make Aliyah are quite resourceful, industrious, loyal and committed Zionists. They may not know half as much about the rudiments and the thousands of years of the Jewish experience. They may not even know what terms such as “halacha” means neither by definition nor by religious expression, but one thing I do know–they are very teachable. They are pliable and changeable.
The first Prime Minister of Israel, David Ben Gurion stated that if anyone wants to be a Jew, let him. I am sure he wasn’t referring to “come one, come all.” But I am convinced, after studying his memoirs in the Ben Gurion Heritage Institute in the Negev one summer, I discovered that Ben Gurion knew Israel would need my people, the Sephardic Anusim for such a time as this. I have read many of his speeches and public statements and I happen to know that Ben Gurion was a strong believer in the Prophets of the Bible, the Tanakh. His young assistant was once asked by a journalist if Ben Gurion ever sought advice from other; and the young aide said: “Yes, only after he has sought the Prophets.”
I therefore, appeal to the “powers that be” in Israel and the Jewish leaders throughout the globe to take a second and more cautious look at what the holy Prophets have to say about the people I am here advocating for. And…and, I’m also appealing to nuestra gente (our people) to learn to love one another, to bear one another’s differences, to unite under a common-cause banner and to never forget the past of our forefathers’ history lest it repeats itself in our day.
Shalom!
Dell F. Sanchez
PS, what you have just read is a statement which I make in my new book that’s about to be published this summer. In it I deal with the hard facts and evidences of Sephardic Anusim roots among many Hispanic/Latinos. I refer to DNA, material evidences, onomastics, history and oral histories. If you're interested in my coming your way to give a lecture or set of seminars, contact me at: negevdell@hotmail.com

In Search of Aliyah!
How can we search for someone we don’t even know is missing? How can we succeed if we don’t have a clue what this person looks like?
Many of you know that I have referred to Aliyah in many of my newsletters. But what about the majority of others that haven’t?
If I’d ask the average person walking down the street or mall, “What is Aliyah?” they’d probably think I’m referring to Aliyah, a 22 year-old singer who died a few years ago.
Aliyah is a Hebrew term which means to immigrate to Israel. Technically, it portrays the imagery of ascending up to Zion because it doesn’t matter what side of Zion/Jerusalem you come from, it’s always upwards.
It hurts me to say this but many folks I know have lost the fervor and zeal that’s in the center of God’s heart regarding the Aliyah of His Chosen People. And some of those that continue to labor or pray about this have lost what we call in Spanish, las ganas which is the passion of desire.
I have seen many churches turn a cold shoulder against Israel. I know of many Christians that are more pro-Arab (Moslem) than pro-Israel. I have witnessed with my own eyes mainline Christian groups funding major projects among those that continue to terrorize and rain rockets on Israeli communities every single day.
Meantime, I’m very, very sorry to say that Aliyah is missing! In the hearts of many people that know about it, Aliyah has drowned! What’s worst is that we’re doing so little or nothing about it.
Might it be too late to save this holy thing that’s so dear to God– which is the return of Jewish people back to their homeland so that Bible prophecy may continue to be fullfilled?
Anyone that glances at American history will quickly see that America’s role in freeing Jews from Hitler’s Holocaust was a mountain top event in our nation. And anyone that notices that since 1948, when Israel was reborn and became a Statehood, America increased in every conceivable institution across the board. Every time America blessed Israel to win her battles against constant attacks from her enemies which surround her in every direction, God has blessed America like no other nation on the face of this earth.
But where is America today? Just look around. Listen to the daily news. While America and American Christians have turned their back on Israel, what has happened to our America?
Maybe you are not a Jew and neither do you have a dot of Jewish DNA in your body; but I happen to know many of them who are rediscovering their Jewish ancestry and are crying out for help. But meantime, WHERE’S ALIYAH?
I give you my most solemn word: I shall never allow Aliyah– which is the prophetic trumpet blast in God’s heart– to grow cold in me. It matters not what it’ll cost me, “Me and my house shall serve the Lord.” Will you? Will you lend me a little hand?
Shalom,

New Book on Sephardic Anusim
I'm in the process of writing a new book and I'd like your feedback on a preliminary statement in it. This helps me take a pulse on what folks 'out there' are feeling about this subject. So here goes...
The awakening of Sephardic Anusim has been a glorious one. It has opened up new pathways of improvement and expression for them. However, they are soon discovering that these pathways are a very long and sometimes treacherous journey back home—to the original families they were severed from over five hundred years ago.
Most of them begin this long journey excited and intrigued with the prospects of their new discoveries and being reconnected with their true family. But they soon find out that the journey is fraught with unexpected challenges and oppositions which make it seem even longer. They find out that not only do they experience rejection by those being left behind but also by those they are moving toward.
In the middle of their life changing journey, they discover that there is much more than history, genealogy, DNA and a host of secret stories to their new found life. They experience the rude awakening of something way deeper. They find out that there is a distinct philosophy of life that is quite different to the one they and their forefathers were raised in. This philosophy of life translates itself into radically different expressions of their personal faith and beliefs. Unprepared for it, they discover the inevitable reality that this journey is highly impacted an array of religious beliefs which they will need to carefully manage depending on how they wish to proceed.
What makes things even harder are when they begin to see the duplicity in this new journey which very few are able to endure. On the one hand they begin to taste the bitterness of being criticized and at times ostracized from old Christian circles, including what appears to be ‘true Zionists.’ Later they discover certain pockets of pseudo Christians and pseudo Jews that get very upset if they don’t join their circles. Finally, they discover a major schism between where they are coming from and where they think they are going. They are confronted with the reality of ‘how Jewish they intend to be.’ So now they find that they must make a decision that will make some people happy and others very upset because of their new persuasion, even if they themselves are thrilled about the new direction in their life.
On top of all of this they become aware that reconnecting with the very land of their forefathers (Israel) isn’t quite as easy as they thought it would be. For those that visit Israel more than as a tourist, they quickly find out that the Israeli family is quite a major enigma because some are very religious and the majority is not. As they tread the narrow pathway known as Aliyah in their longing to become one with the land and the people of their ancestry, they soon discover the politics of becoming an Israeli citizen. They are faced with the harshest reality in this quest when they realize they must jump over many hurdles in order to simply reconnect with the family of their true ancestry. In the interim, they quickly discover that the hurdles keep getting higher and closer with very little definition on how to successfully achieve one’s connection with the life they long to belong to.
By the time a Sephardic Anusim family or individual arrives at this hurdle jumping exercise, they are often too exhausted in spirit and sometimes too broke and broken to continue fighting every step of an uphill war—having to watch their back against those left behind and having to be ever watchful for ambushes set by those that really want nothing to do with their ascent to the land of their forefathers. “But why?” they ask, simply because they are different by the decisions their fleeing ancestors had to make in order to endure and survive impending annihilations strewn all across their histories.
This book is not a manual for those desiring to endure this long and treacherous journey. It is intended to provide them, as well as to educate those with an open mind, to the evidences that prove the existence of Sephardic Anusim among a people with Hispanic/Latinos in America. This book intends to shut the mouths of cynics or at least to quiet them down long enough to prove our existence.
I am fully aware that despite all the evidences which this book provides, some Christians as well as Jews will continue to reject these descendants of the very survivors who overcame Inquisitions, pogroms and holocausts which took place many centuries ago but feel as if it happened during the holocaust of the 1940’s but on one seems to really care.
I would be remiss if I did not state that there are a few wonderful Jews who have taken a few of us under their wing to help us along our long journey. I shall not neglect the fact that some of these Jews are rabbis and leaders both in America as well as in Israel. Even though some of them have put their reputation on the line, we have discovered that there continues to be what I call “hard nosed” Israelis in positions of power that do not bend for anyone when it comes to helping Sephardic Anusim get back home.
Meantime, as an old Spanish saying goes: A Dios rogando y con el mazo dando. In other words, at the same time we continue to pray with fervor we also persist in pounding away until we get a breakthrough!
Shalom, hasta luego,
Dell

Educating not Liquidating!
--Let me first alert you to the fact that this is a once in a while type of message.
We’ve all heard of companies using gimmicks to attract buyers to their stores. We have seen promotions that read: “Great Liquidation Sale,” “Everything Must Go,” “Over stocked!” and a host of other eye catchers.
Well, the actual fact is that we’ve overstocked on at least two titles of the books I’ve published. We are therefore putting them on a 50% discount through the remainder of February while they last. (I’m being sincere about the phrase, “while they last.”)
The first book is what I consider a sort of minor classic titled, The Last Exodus. The second one is, Sephardic Destiny. The reason I call the first one a minor classic is because of the comprehensiveness of the historical overview of my people, the Sephardic Anusim of the Americas. The second one is excellent for people that like to pray to specific targets by understanding the particulars involved in any given issue.
By the way, although these two books are also in Spanish – as are all my other books – this 50% discount is only for the English versions not the Spanish ones. Sorry.
The only way to purchase these books on the 50% discount is by placing your order through my website: www.4sephardim.com. You’ll find these books by clicking on the PUBLICATIONS button on the left hand side of your screen.
So, what’s so great or even “prophetic” about these books on discount? I’m not sure. Maybe it’s just time to get the correct perspective on the Sephardic Anusim and to stop looking at them as old stereotypes, myths and labels have led us to see them. Maybe it’s time to begin seeing them for who they really are – part of God’s Chosen People who have felt like the scum of the earth for over 500 years when they're actually part of "the apple of God's eye."
Read these books and you’ll see why say this.
Shabbat shalom…

The Great Hispanic Anusim Awakening!
I just got the news of new breakthroughs in the DNA testing of Hispanic/Latinos and how many of them happen to have Sephardic Jewish roots tracing back hundreds of years. (By the way, you can visit our website and find a way in which you, too, can join a viable DNA test to discover your own ancestry – www.4sephardim.com.)
Who would’ve thought just 20 years ago that this forgotten group of Jews would find their way back to their roots after 500 years? Since the expulsion of Jews during the Spanish Inquisition in 1492, there are now well over 500 million Hispanic-Latinos in the Americas today. (By this I mean in the USA, Mexico and all of Latin America and certain islands of the Caribbean.)
Experts say at least 10% of them have Sephardic Jewish roots.
Imagine what this means in terms of numbers. For example, let’s take a quick peek at today’s population of Hispanic/Latinos in a few countries:
…USA - 45 million
…Mexico – 106 million
…Puerto Rico – 4 million
…Cuba – 11 million
…Chile – 20 million
…Argentina – 40 million
…Brazil – 192 million
Many of those with Jewish roots are professionals, business owners and business people. Many are highly skilled in masonry, electrical, plumbing and mechanical areas. Others are skilled in high-tech, media and communications; and hosts of them are skilled in service delivery of every conceivable kind.
Thousands of them yearn to get reconnected to the land of their forefathers –Israel.
Two dozen are presently waiting for a final word from the Jewish Agency regarding their Israeli citizenship.
Another 30 or more will be on track to apply for citizenship within the next few months.
Approximately 1000 others are preparing to get on track to make aliyah within the next year or two.
A common denominator they all have is to see the Negev Desert blossom as Ancient Prophets have foretold. (An example of this is found in the Prophet Isaiah’s book, chapter 35 and Obadiah 1:20-21.)
We have personally witnessed extraordinary things already taking place in the Negev in the last few years! A few of these amazing developments include:
-- construction of a huge military base in the heart of the Negev…
-- relocating of all bases from the north to the Negev…
-- building a light railway from northern Israel through the Negev…
-- extension of a major highway from the north through the Negev…
-- construction of a major airport in the Negev…
-- building new kibbutzim, villages and suburbs in Beer Sheba…
-- expansion in Sde Boker in the fields of desert research, solar energy, military
training, Ben Gurion Heritage Institute…
-- new and expanded archaeological excavations in the land of patriarchs, the Negev.
I’m often asked, "Are there others doing what you and Helen do? My reluctant response is, Well, yes and no, but mostly no. We’re the only ones that are engaged in a most comprehensive way which focuses on Hispanic/Latinos with Jewish roots, their Aliyah and their participation in making the Negev Desert to blossom."
I’m also asked, "Do you have special funding for what you do?"
My answer is instantly, "No – we do not have any funding. We do not have any congregation, foundation or institution underwriting what we do. We depend on God to awaken those who are directed to help us with donation and offerings of good faith and love."
We need your support. Please make your donations payable to:
Aliyah Sephardic Center – PO Box 75 – Helotes, Texas 78023.
Or go to www.4sephardim.com and send your donation via Paypal.
While there, be sure to check out our books and DVDs on the subject.
